Meet MiniCards
An offline-first, cross-platform spaced repetition tool powered by modern FSRS v6 algorithm. Your memory, your data, your terms.
All data stored locally in SQLite. Review cards on subway, flights, or anywhere without network. Sync is optional.
No registration required for full offline use. Export all data as CSV, ZIP, or MCS files anytime — your data is never locked in.
Built-in local API server with MCP protocol support. Connect AI assistants like Claude to generate cards programmatically.
Available on Android, iOS, macOS, Windows, Linux, and Web. Pick up where you left off on any device.
Why MiniCards?
Information is abundant, but remembering it is the real challenge. MiniCards is designed around three core principles:
Offline First
Learning shouldn’t depend on internet access. MiniCards uses a local SQLite database with WAL mode for performance. All features — creating cards, reviewing, searching, editing — work fully offline. Cloud sync is a convenient add-on, not a requirement.
Data Sovereignty
Your learning data is your asset. MiniCards defaults to guest mode with no sign-up needed. At any time you can export everything — cards, review history, media files — in open formats like CSV, ZIP, or the MCS bundle. No proprietary lock-in, no platform hostage.
AI Ready
MiniCards runs a lightweight local HTTP server (port 9020, configurable) on desktop platforms. It supports the MCP protocol, enabling AI tools like Claude Desktop or Cursor to read, search, and create cards directly through your workflow.
Quick Start
- Create a group — tap “+” to organize knowledge into folders (e.g., “English Vocabulary”, “System Design”).
- Add cards — use the FastPasteEditor with Markdown, LaTeX, images, and audio support.
- Review — the FSRS v6 algorithm surfaces cards at the optimal time for retention.
- Repeat daily — a few minutes a day is all it takes.
